UMG media gateways line-up adds new models with reduced cost and high reliability

Get to know the new UMG 2017 line-up models.

Cost reduction. This is an appealing topic for all businesses, regardless of their size or industry. Through VoIP telephony, businesses have found a great opportunity to reduce their expenses and upgrade their telephony system in a scalable way, meaning having a system that is able to keep up with their growth, without ignoring the features of the existing equipment.

Featuring two new models, besides the renowned UMG 100, Khomp launches its new User Media Gateways lineup. With them, companies can have a dramatic reduction in rates using a VoIP carrier, plus a number of benefits offered by the digital telephony system: call forwarding to any telephone or cell phone, easy expansion of extensions, IVR (Interactive Voice Response), calls between headquarters and branches extensions at zero cost, among many others.

Differentiators per Model

UMG 50 is recommended for small businesses, since it offers low cost and can be purchased with as few as 10 channels, which allows for 10 E1 and VoIP simultaneous calls. As your business grows, UMG 50 will keep up with the demand: with additional licenses, you can extend your capacity to up to 30 simultaneous calls.

For hybrid solutions that need to integrate different interfaces, UMG Modular 300 allows choosing 3 interfaces among E1, GSM 2G / 3G, FXO and FXS, for up to 46 simultaneous calls, with ability to connect with up to 2 different VoIP carriers.

All models presented here are gateways and offer 1 SIP channel for each operating telephony interface. Thus, they enable conversion of fixed and mobile calls into IP calls or vice-versa. UMG Server Modular is an appliance that consists of UMG Modular 300 and a server with a dedicated motherboard for installing any Windows or Linux-based telephony solution.

This makes the UMG Server Modular a unique platform, ideal for SIP solution providers that seek high performance and reliable hardware to embed their PABX and IP PBX applications, call center dialers, IVR, among others.

UMG Tools: More gateway integration and automation

With the goal to make even more resources available to the UMG lineup, Khomp developed UMG Tools, an Asterisk resource module that enables channel monitoring in the media gateway within Asterisk interface.

UMG Tools add a set of features to the media gateway that reinforce integration between UMG and Asterisk. It is a charge-free, independent package to install in the same server running Asterisk. After installation, the resource module will be available to be loaded by Asterisk.

Some UMG Tools differentiators: simultaneous management of more than one UMG; ability to read GSM modem signal strength; query of E1 links and active FXS status in the gateway, and many other options.
