VoIP telephony equipment: how Khomp can help you to implement this technology

VoIP telephony equipment

Continuing with our series of articles on VoIP telephony for PMEs, this post addresses the VoIP telephony equipment needed to make this change.

In previous articles in the Khomp Blog, the advantages of modernizing telephony infrastructure were looked at from two points of view: from the perspective of small companies that can use and benefit from the advantages of VoIP telephony, and also from the perspective of Independent Service Providers (ISP) who can expand their portfolio of VoIP services.

Making this modernization viable, Khomp offers the technology required for the demand for this modernization through its gateways with just a few channels, called UMG.

UMG Media gateways

The UMG line is a line of media gateways that includes 5 different models for use in situations with a low density of simultaneous calls. They are ideal for ISPs who want to offer VoIP service to small and medium companies by allocating VoIP telephony equipment directly to their clients with a personalized Internet and telephony solution.

To find out which model is right for a project, the size and current infrastructure of the operation being modernized must be considered. The UMG FXS 240, for example, has the capacity to perform conversion of up to 24 analog calls simultaneously, while reducing costs.

For hybrid scenarios, the UMG Modular 300 is ideal, because it converts both analog interfaces (FXS) as well as digital (E1), supporting up to 46 simultaneous calls. With the UMG Modular, it is even possible to aggregate cellular calls (GSM) into the VoIP operation.

The UMG 100, UMG 102 and UMG 104 models are designed for conversion of E1 channels to VoIP. Find out more about the difference between the various models of the UMG line here.
