Futurecom 2018: discover business opportunities in the corporate environment with the UMG line from Khomp!

To take advantage of business opportunities in the corporate environment, in the area of telecommunications, User Media Gateways (UMGs) from Khomp stand out for the diversity of the resources they bring to business networks.

Among these tools is the possibility of working with PBX in the cloud. “The advantage of this technology is that it makes it less costly for companies to contract for a telephony service, since it eliminates the need for a physical server in the company’s own infrastructure,” explains Wesley Silva, UMG Products leader at Khomp.

These savings are even more significant when considering companies with branches. “In addition to providing this advantage, the equipment makes it possible to establish a VoIP network between the different units of the group, guaranteeing that calls between them will be free of charge,” he explains.

Another part of the line that optimizes financial resources is the callback. With its release scheduled for Futurecom 2018, the objective of this feature is to centralize telephony costs.

“Imagine the following situation: instead of having to provide a smartphone to each salesperson and manage all of the different accounts, the company asks the collaborator to install an application that stores all of the contacts in his or her client base. To contact them, the salesperson presses a contact on the list, which initiates a call to the company’s UMG. When it receives this signal, the equipment makes one call to the contact and another to the salesperson, triangulating the call,” he explains.

Another new release for Futurecom 2018 that will bring benefits to the corporative scenario is the array of functions for survivability, including those between the equipment’s Session Border Controller (SBC) resources.

“For some business models, one second of interruption of telephony services can cause considerable damage (financial and operational). At a hospital, for example, each call can mean a life saved,” he states.

The UMGs also provide good results for those that are in the process of modernizing their telephony networks because they make it possible to go through this process without the need for wholesale substitution of infrastructure.

“When we talk about UMG Modular, which works with FXS, it is possible to connect it to receive analogical signals from the carrier and distribute VoIP within the company. This way, a traditional extension can communicate with an IP telephone with no problems,” he states.

This model also makes it possible to establish another interesting resource: lower cost routes. “Because it has different telephony interfaces, you can configure them to use a channel in accordance with the profile of the number being called, considering the combination with the lowest cost,” he relates.
