Check out Khomp’s impressions of Astricon 2018

Astricon 2018

Khomp was in Orlando, USA, from October 9th through the 11th, to participate in Astricon 2018. In addition to presenting its portfolio of products for Asterisk users, the company took the opportunity to strengthen its relationships with its partners abroad and discover the latest trends involving the use of this telephony platform.

“This was the first Astricon since Sangoma’s purchase of the developer Digium. That’s why the expectations of the market were so high,” explains Rodolfo Leffa, Khomp’s Coordinator of Development.

However, there weren’t any big announcements related to strategic direction and usability. “The changes offered by the new version of Asterisk, for example, were very discrete,” he evaluates.

In terms of technology, Leffa says that the most interesting demonstrations were related to WebRTC based applications. “The development of applications like click-to-call and direct contact through sites, for example, continue their steady advance,” he offers.

He added that the programming of the meeting included some more futuristic presentations. “We were able to see some demonstrations of applications of technologies like virtual reality and video-conferencing,” he says.

Regarding the interest of Astricon visitors in the line of products introduced by Khomp, the company’s intelligence tool designed for telecommunications operations was the major protagonist. “People were very excited about Insight! for Asterisk, especially those from the Latin American market,” states Leffa.
